Two
by Marie Lundquist
translated from Swedish by Kristina Andersson Bicher

The following poems are taken from an interview with poet, essayist, and translator Kristina Andersson Bicher.
Read the interview
I go out into the woods. Surrounded by
wooden idols, I recognize myself.
Man’s origins are wood.
That’s where the thirst comes from.

In my garden, there’s an open
vessel. Leaves collect on the bottom.
Animals come there to drink.
Of all the bowls, I want to save
only this one.
